Mastering Your Creative Budget: When and How Google Flow Credits Reset

Google Flow has completely transformed how creators approach AI-powered video generation, creative prompting, and visual storytelling. Powered by advanced models like Veo, the platform relies on a credit-based system to manage heavy rendering workloads.

Whether you are casually testing out prompts on the free tier or running high-end cinematic projects on an Ultra subscription, understanding when and how your Google Flow credits reset is essential to avoiding creative roadblocks.

1. Daily Free Credits: The 24-Hour Rule

You don’t strictly need a paid subscription to start experimenting with Google Flow. Every account is automatically granted a baseline allocation of 50 free Google Flow credits per day.

However, unlike traditional software that resets strictly at midnight (UTC or local time), Google handles daily refreshes using a dynamic trigger:

  • The Trigger Mechanism: Your daily credit refresh is dynamically triggered by your first generation of the day. For example, if you log in and use your Google Flow credits for the first time at 2:00 PM on a Tuesday, your next batch of 50 credits will become available 24 hours later (or on your next active day of use).
  • Use It or Lose It: Daily credits do not roll over. If you only spend 15 out of your 50 daily credits, the remaining 35 disappear when your next cycle hits. Your account simply snaps back to the base 50 credits rather than accumulating a cumulative balance.

2. Subscription Plans and Monthly Resets

If you rely on Google Flow for regular content creation, you likely subscribe to one of Google’s AI membership tiers (Plus, Pro, or Ultra). These plans inject a much larger pool of monthly credits into your account.
